Nice spin. First of all, they don t buy the bundle. They simply subscribe without cost to see the things Dance Gavin Dance tour dates they offer. It is common knowledge that only 10% keep using it, 30% if you think maybe Spotify. If you are going to challenge, you might also need to challenge Spotify s active subscriber claims that only 30% of users are active Good luck. My bullshit is backed by evidence.

I m sick of hearing all the bs about digital music piracy. Before the internet, artists and music companies alike received just compensation with the sale of records, CDs, whatever physical manifestation was normal, let alone their share of concert revenue, and royalties from stereo. People everywhere could actually record the music activity they (or someone) bought and PAID FOR onto cassette tapes, or later, burn that music to CDs so that they could pay attention to their music in a car, or as they definitely walked or jogged. They even shared their tapes or CDs making use of their family and friends. No one came after cassette tape or CD manufacturers crying because those were able to make copies of their music collection because of their convenience.

I hear frequently from (non-musician) friends, ‘I dislike live music.Well, the reason they do not like live music is really because too often they attend smaller shows and still have horrible experiences. They don’t know why, but most likely it’s because the sound is awful. They wouldn’t be capable of pin point why it does not sound good, and a lot would, unfortunately, blame it for the band.

What are you arguing for? That the organization is overvalued? Or that songwriters must be pay more? Because you are most often conflating two completely separate issues. If the payout to songwriters climbs up, conceivably Westergren & other executives could take a salary cut & free up funds to pay songwriters, but that s simply a drop inside the bucket. As for money being produced by investors away from the speculative valuation on the business, that s not money that could ever possibly end up inside the hands of songwriters unless the songwriters are buying stock or are receiving paid in equity, & that s kind of an exotic notion. Isn t it?

Its nice to view the breakdown of each artist as well as the volume of streams and listeners they have, however the question I am playing is; why would a small business invest some time and effort to formulate and support a platform that, even though wildly successful, will not generate enough revenue to aid the label or perhaps the artists?
